Born in Snyder, Texas, Asalto founder and owner Jordan Rodriguez has been surrounded by music his entire life. At just four years old, he began playing the accordion in his father’s band,

Conjunto Mi Gusto, and has spent most weekends since then performing on stage.

In 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic, Jordan decided to begin his journey as a solo artist. He recorded and released his first home-produced album on all digital platforms, officially marking the start of his solo career. Shortly after, he teamed up with producer Eddie Perez to create his next album, “De Nuevo”, which received strong radio airplay and brought new recognition to his name.

In June 2021, Jordan got a call from Tejano artist JR Gomez to perform at a benefit show in Lubbock, Texas. To make it happen, he needed to form a band—so he reached out to longtime collaborator Joe Garza for help recruiting musicians. What began as a simple “one-time” project soon took on a life of its own. Originally known as The Jordan Rodriguez Band, the group eventually found its permanent name on a late-night drive home from practice during a heavy storm. As Jordan drove through the rain, he asked Joe to search for Spanish words related to “storms, bad weather, hail damage,” and eventually, the word “Asalto” came up. The two immediately knew that was the perfect name.

Though the lineup has evolved over time, Asalto’s sound and spirit have remained consistent. The band has made a strong name for itself, earning multiple Tejano Music Award nominations, winning New Band of the Year at the Annual Guadalupe Awards, and continuing to grow its fanbase across Texas and beyond.

To date, Asalto has released over 10 singles, 10 music videos, and a visual EP for their full-length project “Más Fuerte Que Ayer.”

After some unrelated personal changes within the group, the band now features:
